The wind in Holland...

...blows mainly against the direction you are riding. No matter which way you go, it always readjusts to slow you down. I don't understand it. I don't mind that it blows force 5 or 6 everyday, I'd just rather it was a tailwind.

Ikea

Have I mentioned that I love Ikea? And I must really be in love with them given the number of times I've been there in the last few weeks. Is it because they make shopping fun? Is it because they have cheap prices? Or is it because they the only ones who are open on a schedule that is convenient for me and so get all my business be virtue of being open? Whatever the answer, I really ought to buy some stock... Anyhow, many trips later and now I have the bed, two wardrobes, a dresser, a coffee table, 4 chairs, and a dining room table all assembled and in place. Whew, now I can start to live. Not sleeping on the floor is so nice.

So many flowers

Last weekend I got back in to tourism mode and drove over to the Keukenhof. So many flowers you don't even know where to begin. Also, it's really crowded with tourists. I wouldn't mind going back on a week day when it wouldn't be as busy. Still, it was a pleasant way to spend half a day and I got some good pictures. I think the white balance may have been off slightly, but to cool effect. Pics are here.

Holland in an afternoon

A couple weekends ago I went to the model village here in town. It's kinda surprising that after all the times I've been here I had never gotten around to it until now. Maybe that was good because at the moment they are doing an ice sculpture display. They were quite good, though it was a little chilly.

Gallery here.

Yea for New Cars!

Yea!!! My license plates finally came in and so I was able to pick up my car today! The poor thing had been sitting all alone at the dealer this whole time. So today me and car went out for a drive to get the breaking in started. I swear, there isn't normally 150km between here and Breda, but I somehow managed to make it take that long. I really like it when you come up to a corner and the nav says "keep right" and then just as you start turning it says "take the ferry". Oh well, it was a nice enough boat ride.

I am going to like car. I still need to work on getting the seat just right, but I am looking forward to the day when I can open the throttle all the way and go autobahning. Of course, now I'm going to be forever paranoid that someone will scratch it.
